INTRODUCTION

This personal project was created as an infographic about my home country, Estonia. My goal was to design a clear and visually appealing overview that displays the most interesting facts about Estonia. To keep the design simple yet informative, I focused on strong visuals supported by minimal text, so the viewer could quickly grasp the key ideas at a glance.

DESIGN DECISIONS

National identity: I used the silhouette of Estonia filled with the colors of the national flag to immediately communicate both the country’s shape and its identity.
Clarity and minimalism: I kept the structure straightforward, with concise text and bold visuals, to ensure the infographic delivers information quickly and effectively.
Color palette: The addition of soft yellows and neutral browns complemented the national colors, helping create balance and a sense of depth without overwhelming the core blue–black–white theme.

DESIGN PROCESS

I started by selecting a color scheme inspired by the Estonian flag. To add more depth and warmth, I introduced a soft yellow tone as a background accent, which paired well with the blue and black. For additional contrast, I used a deeper yellow in certain details and headings, and included light brown elements to balance the stronger tones of dark blue and black. I then experimented with different layouts to create a design that was easy to navigate, while making sure each section was visually distinct. I added light blue sections to clearly distinguish between different areas to explore.
